what is the best reel out there ...$

looking to get a good reel that will be worth the money ....I have seen them from $50.00 to $300.00 ......I did pick up a KVD reel in a pawn shop on nice rod for $50.00 but ...from what I ben using ,this kvd reel is really nice ,man you can through it a mile . pitching is easy ....make'$ me wounder what his $300.00 tour reel would feel like .....maybe you don't like that reel ...if so what reel would you buy if you where looking to get a good reel , and why .....for me it would be for pitching and spinner bait .....for tech.guys ....so you got $300.00 you can buy only one reel to fish with in a tournament ...what reel is it and why ?

Any reel with a lot of bearings should be good.

One reel like one rod will not fit all applications. If I were in your position I would look at the Shimano Curado E series. The G series has just came out and there are a lot of E's on the Reel for Sale board that can be had at a very good price. The E series reel is a much better reel then the new G's. For the $300 or very little more you can pick up 3 of the 200E7's. They have 7 to 1 gear ratio for all applications other then deep cranking or slow rolling large spinnerbaits. For the last two applications I would get a 200E5 series with a 5 to 1 gear ratio. You won't be disappointed at all with the E series Curado's.

Lew's speed spool $89...i have zillions, revos, curados, chronarchs, ect. ect....and this little reel holds its own with all the high dollar stuff...actually just ordered 2 more, worth looking into for sure!!!

I have a Revo STX that I love. I am also partial to the BPS Pro Qualifier, which are a good bargain (can get on sale for $79). Finally, I also have a Calcutta which has been absolutely bullet proof.

The best reel for the money I think is the Revo S. Catch Tacklewarehouse or somewhere when they have the 20% off sale. Gets the reel price down to $104, you can also look on ebay for new ones and get them right at $100. I have had several Revo S reels since they were 1st introduced and they still run like a champ. I also have a couple SX, STX and a Premier. For the diference in money there is not an equal difference in performance. I do buy the Revo Winch if I'm going to be using crankbaits do to the lower gear ratio. Daiwa on the lower end I think is junk. Shimano I think is good but they are chasing Revo.

If I had 300$ I would go buy 3 Revo S reels . If money was no object and I could go buy 3 $300 reels I would go buy 3 Revo MGX. Dick's has 1 in a display case you can go fondle, it seems really nice.

I am a fan of Shimano products. I have all Curado e7 and Citica 200E. I use the Curado e7 for jigs and other pitching applications. Citica 200E is a great all purpose reel that can be found for around $85 new. Last fall, I bought a Lews Speed Spool for cranking. It is a smooth little reel for $89.00.

If money were no object, I think I would like the Cores.

find the old orignal chronarchs....100's sliver peal colored and 100fs gold color.. get them cheap as you can send the have cleaned and new ceramic brgs and drag disc.. they will be best ever built and las several life times

i bought a revo mgx at dicks for 130, it was the friday after thanksgiving sale and it was suppose to be for the kvd tour quantum but the guy said no and gave me the mgx and when it rang up at the counter the woman said this isnt right and the guy came back over and said no thats right so i got it for 130, they only had 3 and i should have got all 3, this is a smooth reel

Pflueger Patriarch If I had $300 I would buy a patriarch and save up another $100 to buy another one. There are alot of people here talking about Revo's. I bought a Revo STX, used it once and took it to get my money back. Maybe I got that 1 bad reel, but I have alot of Pfluegers that are 3 years old and still casting like they did the day I got them.

I recently did the same thing. The only problem is I was told that some of the internal parts are becoming hard to get or no longer available. I am going to hang onto mine as long as possible. The 100A's were possibly the best built/performing Chronarch reel to date in my opinion.
