The blast off was earlier than posted and there was no clear weigh in time announced that we could hear.
I was hoping you were ok. I seen you at your truck in the morning but didnt see you on the water all day.
Did Jerry fish with you?
The blast off time was posted at 6:00 am and the weigh in time is always decided before takeoff-------
Highrock this coming Sunday, July 10 will be our next Yadkin Trail Tournament. It will be hot so everyone bring lots of water. Please be careful driving to the lake and look forward to seeing each one of you there

Jerry... what do you think about the Phoenix? Im sure it was clean enough for you. I have heard from others Rodney is doing his best to wax the gelcoat right off the boat!
Tommy and I also got there before 6 after a hour 45 minute drive and could not locate the group , so we launch with along with Rodney & Jerry and one other boat from the BBC we cam in at 1 because Jerry said the weigh in was going to be at 1. Didnt have a keeper to weigh but paid Tom the entry & enjoyed the fellowship! Sorry we want be able to make Tuckertown but will be at the Sept TX.
Main thing is Im glad ya'll were ok!

I was sitting at the helm of the Phoenix, in the water, at 5:55. The only boats I saw were Tommy, Bill, Shannon, and myself...we all got there at the landing before 5:50. In-fact, I was sitting in Rodney's boat, on the ramp waiting for a lane to launch from, when Rodney decided to use the older double-lane ramp...and there were boats taking off at that time (5:50). They couldn't have been from the wildcat, because he said (at 6 am) "It's 6 am, go ahead and go".
My suggestion for future events is this:
If you're going to post a "time", then stick to it because others are counting on it being done as posted.
Good thing Basswipe didn't come down.

In his first post Rodney stated that he and Jerry came in at 2:45 because they did not know a definate weigh in time.
In Franks post he stated that Jerry told him that the weigh in was at 1:00.
If anyone that is fishing does not have Ed's, Marks or my cell number send us an IM and that way we can make sure you can get in touch with one of us if there is a problem.
If the take off was early it was no more than a couple of minutes--And I do mean no more than 3. I know that this was started not wanting to have too many rules but it seems as though we may have to tighten up and do some changing. People complained in the past that they had to wait til past the stated takeoff time, and now it seems some think we take off too early.
The only thing that I know to do is to make it so that everyone has to be signed in and paid up shall we say 10 minutes before takeoff time. That way everyone will be sure to know what time is decided for the weigh in. It will also give the person taking care of things time to put his boat in or to do whatever they need to do.
I am truley sorry that it has come down to this. I know that most are there early enough that there is not a problem. We want to keep this so that everyone continues to enjoy the fun and fellowship.

I have a couple different opinions on this. First I pulled in at 545. I set my stuff in Bills boat and a turned around and we had launched. The actual time was 5:50 I looked. I don't see a issue with leaving early but someone should have to stay until launch time at the ramp. With that being said i was later myself than normal but it happens. I don't however know any tournament or trail you can show up after blast off and register and fish or take off when ever youchoose then come back and pay. What prevents someone from not catching anything and a saying screw it and leave a hour early with out paying. I don't think most would do that but it could happen. With all that being said. I think if we say it is at 6 it should be 6in not 5:50 unless someone stays to accept registrations at the ramp. Someone could have a flat tire or something andbe legitametly late. Also u think if someone decides to stay out past weigh in they owe to everyone else to call. If I would have had y boat I would have went looking for buzz and rodney. Also the last tournament on Hr we spun a hub and was stranded. No one checked on us or called. I did call Joel but he wasn't fishing that day was the only one I had a number for

It was my boat and my call; we were catching fish and decided to stay out. I did not want it to look like we left early to just not pay and I have no problems give the winners my money because this had nothing to do about paying.
I looked for Tom, Ed, and Mark and confirm the time and could not find any of you. I heard 2-3 weigh-in times at the ramp so the time was not clear to me. What if the time Jerry was telling people was wrong and it could have beenÂ
Last month we could not leave until exactly 6:00 and in your post you confirmed 6:00 and not safe light at High Rock, so when arriving at High Rock I got there in time to launch and blast off at 6:00, but you guys left 10 mins early. If we set blast off times lets follow it the same way every time so we know what to expect. If the blast off would have happened at the posted time there would have been no issues, but 4-5 boat were on time and left out of voting when to end the tournament and left with an unfair advantage since they were 10 mins behind the others and that was my issue with it.
I am sorry for any concern it caused for us not showing back up at weigh in that was not my intent. I was of the opinion we were not included in the tournament since the blast off happened so much sooner than the posted time.
I am not trying to stir this up but want to clear up what happened and what I was thinking. This is my last post on this let move on
There seems to be lots of different openions as to what time the weigh in was and to what time takeoff was. As far as takeoff and such goes there will be no more issuse with that. There have been some rule changes that will take care of that. If you want to fish you will be there and checked in 10 minutes before takeoff time or you must call and let us know. If you are not there it will be your responsability to find out what time weigh in is and to see if you can get up with one of us when you arrive at the lake.
Like I have said before. It has been the sole intention to make this trail as enjoyable as we can. We do not like having to add rules. Do not want to get this to where it is like all the other ones out there.

I over slept got at the ramp at 6:05 so I don't know what time y'all left, don't matter had fun and was wired on amps. Lets just keep it fun and don't worry about yesterday.

this post was not intended to call anyone out........but was my full intent to stir up a good conversatation (which it has) to point out a fact and in hopes that with afew easy adjustments we can keep the this fun and have BBC attendance up. Both tournaments on Highrock were started before their set times. I dont mind as long as I can pay at the weigh in and be counted as active in the TX. Tommy and I have to travel over 1hr 45 minutes to get there. I hate to not be there of before the blast off
I would like to see a list of cell phone # listed. Have it so if some are little late arriving they can call a director or tx offical and still be in tournament if they name is on the registor before blastoff. ALSO call if needed assistance on lake or on hwy getting to the lake.

Time to put this to rest. If the intention was to bring to light that the take off was a few minutes early this was accomplished. I will stick to the start time of being 5:57 at this last tournament. This was by cell and gps. But this is all old news.
As has been stated before there were complaints before of being late and now of being early. There have been rule changes that will solve this problem and insure that those interested in fishing will be there early enough to sign in.
Pease be sure to read ALL the rules so there will be no misunderstanding.
