    Gpsmap 942

Are they any good? I seen a livescope bundle with this for a headunit. I researched it and it seems better than the echomap 9 inch units but i need real world input. Thanks

I have a gpsmap922 touch. same unit, different maps, I have useless coastal maps but they were cheaper. The thing is great. Has better resolution than most of their units, I prefer the 9" over their 10" because the shape is more like your phone sideways vs a square, and the less power draw.

I can see a noticeable benefit over the 93sv+ and no cradle to go bad.

I have a 942sv with a PS 30 and think it's an excellent unit. It will run a 2D and downview transducer, but not a sideview. So if sideview is wanted, the 942 might not be your best choice.

True a 942 will not have any sonar capability other than livescope.

my 922 is technically a 922xs and can run sonar if I wanted. But I do t want and don't need as mine is only for livescope.
