1996 Johnson 150 dies on take off when warm

OK so when I launch the boat and head across the lake its fine. After I fish for a while and try to take off it idles rough and will die when I try to take off. If i put it in neutral and rev it up to about 900 rpm for a few seconds and then try and take off it's fine. I have done a link and sync. Anything else it could be? The bulb is not super hard but never has stayed hard. I have tried pumping it before I started and I get about 1 squeeze then it's hard but doesn't make a difference. Tried the choke and that makes it worse. Any help?

I have read about the switch that cuts it over to 3 cylinders on idle. Any chance this could be sticking? Also what should this engine idle at?

I believe your on the right track. its called the Shift interrupt switch. Located under the shift linkage. It kills 3 cylinders to save the Clutch Dog. Wired to the Power Pack. Hope this helps...
