I have found the same stuff that works for me in the summer works in the winter too. Jerkbaits are a bit better when it's cold and clear, jig bites are soft but have a big fish attached, most soft plastic baits require no wind and watching the line.. don't expect a thump, it just does happen for me that many times. Not like summer..

Crankbaits and don't forget the rattle traps. Look shallow towards backs of creeks. Good luck

Shakey head and jigs on drop offs. Last year I was able to see them on the sonar in 14-18' of water then back off and catch them.

For schools and packs, fishing the holes in creek bends down deep with a rig. Feel the weight of the fish on the end, then set the hook.

Mostly, I fish the same shallower waters I would fish in the late spring thru fall, only much slower. Jerkbaits, crankbaits, and plastics. When you feel the dead weight, set the hook.

Sleeping in is also a good technique, no need to get there as the sun rises. Afternoons are usually better for me this time of year.
