    What catching them??????

so as a follow up with the Verdict post. With the bass in this weird funk what are you guys ripping lips with. I have throwing the boat shallow cracks, spinner baits. multi soft plastics, and jerk baits, targeting both shallow and deep water. I will say I have a hard time dead sticking and that I know may be a key, so what are your thoughts.

I hit them pretty good last weekend, fishing shallow cover (boulders and trees) with a 3/8 oz jig and zoom super chunk Jr. trailer. The fish have been absolutely crushing them too, all solid "THUMP!"s on every fish. Love jig fishing.

Where'd you go and what were the conditions like, just out of curiosity?

Went out last Sunday, and hit them pretty good again with the jig fishing downed trees and boulders. Found the smallies were hitting the jig really good by dragging it VERY slowly over and around large boulders with an occasional lift here and there. Some picked it up on the lift, others scooped it on the drag. Fishing the trees, almost every strike came on the fall, never felt it, just saw my line racing away.

My uncle had a great day the same day, but he was fishing crankbaits working grass and milfoil in the flats in 6-7' of water. Water temp was 58-60 degrees.

    Re: What catching them?????? (BassLund)

Spider jigs and football jigs were killing them on Winnisquam this weekend. Stupid easy to fish for smallies on beds, but it doesn't change the fact that it's a blast. Caught 21 on Friday and 28 on Sunday, and my buddy caught 20 yesterday too. Too windy to find the biggens down deep, but still had a lot of 3 pounders. If anyone can swing a trip up there this week before they go off the beds, I recommend it.
