I could be wrong but I think it is closed to fishing at that time. Make a call before you drive down there. I have not fished there in several years. It was always great to me the first week of May. Watchout for the cops. That is the only place I have been issued a ticket for speeding. They donot like bass boats. That was the last time I ever went there.

Come on down it closes on march 31'st but opens on april 17'th so you would be good to go. I am going there in the am as the lake is ice free. IM me if you need any info as i fish there 3-4 days a week.
P.S. Connecticut's opening day is always the 3rd saturday of april (the 17th this year) We dont have a closed season for bass unless it is a lake that gets stocked with trout then those lakes are closed from march 31st till the 3rd SAT in april.
Thanks for the heads up on speeding, but my boat only goes 34 mph! I thought Winnepesaukee was the only lake with a speeed limit...Oh, do you mean on the highway?
