    Fishing Instructors Course

Anyone doing the fishing instructors course in Westboro on April 8th? It's being put on by the Mass Wildlife Dept. information can be found on their page. Chappy and I are thinking about doing it. I guess they need volunteers to help teach basic fishing skills to kids groups etc and this course is to certify you to do that I believe.

Ok where is everyone hiding? I talked with Jim Lagacy today and confirmed that Chappy and I were going to attend the fishing instructors seminar. He told me a bit about the program and how they are looking for more instructors. It's a day class, it's FREE, they feed you and there's no obligation if you don't want to or don't think you can do it. They're trying to form groups of instructors to help teach seminars on basic fishing to kids and adults looking to learn. The state will provide everything needed for the seminars. How can you go wrong? Might as well put some of the money we've all been throwing into this system to good use. And it seems like a great way to teach kids the proper way to fish and enjoy the enviornment. Here's a quick excerpt from the state's web page with some info for anyone interested.

The Program is especially in need of instructor teams from the Southern Berkshires, Upper Connecticut Valley, North Shore, Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod. Pre-registration is required. For more details and to register, contact Angler Education Program Coordinator Jim Lagacy at 508/792-7270 x109.

Course is this Sat? No obligations.. anyone else interested in going? They're in need of more instructors throughout Mass especially the Southeast and Cape Cod areas.

Bad news dude, lot's of people in Mass(or any State) get food from the State for free for doing far less than what you are asking. Good luck it is a good cause.

All booked up? Wow... didn't realize there were that many people going. When I had talked to Jim he asked me if I knew anyone else that'd be interested in going. He made it sound like it was pretty empty.
