    LOZ 3/24-25

I'm meeting my brother at Loz this weekend. Putting in at Coffman on the Gravois. We will probably target crappie and then bass. Anyone know if there are any tourneys launching there those days. Also, if anyone has any pointers on the bass fishing that would be great, I'm figuring jerkbaits, wiggle warts, jigs, a rig, but I don't really know the area. For that matter I won't refuse help on the crappie either , but I heard they were really biting.
    Thanks

I was down last weekend and the lake was so clear you could see down 10 feet easy most places did not find any fish shallow crappie was about 12 feet over brush in 20 feet bass was tough but had my daughter and had to keep her on fish. But with the weather right now the lake should dirty some and I think fish will mover shallower! I am

You pretty much have the right bait arsenal in place, although I would never fish at LOZ the last weekend of March without a spinnerbait ready to go (although the water color on the lower end isn't exactly ideal for it). Also, the algae has fishing a wiggle wart a nasty, frustrating deal in some areas of the lake.

You all are great! Thanks so much. That does sound busy, we could have went anywhere - but the others all live fairly close to loz so they wanted to go there. We will still have fun I guarantee it!

Haslag, thanks I will say something if I see you. I will be in a little bitty blue and white Skeeter. I pull it with a white and gold RAM that is has very obnoxious decals (work truck).

Steve - thanks for the pointers

If it is going to be that busy, I may get a room somewhere where I can put in there. Then again, may not be able to get one now.

Also, has the main lake been ok, or should we stay up in the Gravois?

    Thanks.

Thank God someone else found a crankbait in less than 10' of water to be absolutely pointless. That snot was terrible last week, in fact we had trouble throwing jerkbaits on shallow point cause we would foul them everytime.

I'm sure there is color throughout the lake now, heavy generation and alot of rain I'd throw that spinnerbait all day long and a jig in brush.

Check out Camp Sharon for lodging. It's a church camp during the summer but rents out when they don't have kids. It's cheap and not far from where you want to fish. Stayed there last weekend. Fishing was tough except Saturday morning. Had a limit with the help of a local guide and some hard work, but that bite was gone in the evening and next day. The only bite we could seem to muster after that was spinner bait in pockets that had wind on them. I am sure the conditions have changed since all the rain.

Thanks for all the help everyone.

Skeeter, I wish I had checked this last night. Just made reservations somewhere else, but I will keep that in mind for the future.
