I had him put a guide on an IMX rod last year and don't remember the cost but it wasn't too bad. He had it maybe a week so I figure I got it back a lot quicker than if I had sent it back to Loomis. Give them a call and see if they can help you out.

Bullseye does a great job... The last rod he had for about 3 days and it looked perfect.

Bullseye is the place- great little bass fishing shop! John and Larry are great guys who usually can help you figure out what you need -even if you didn't realize you need it![]()

That is a good little skill to learn, Trey-as is rod-building in general. I took a course taught by Tom Hargrove and built a couple fly-rods. Guide replacement isn't difficult to do-just need a replacement guide, thread, and epoxy-and perhaps a dremel tool to smooth/file the feet of the guide down nice and sharp. You can rotate the rod by hand while the epoxy dries to prevent sagging epoxy drying.
That's kinda what I was thinking as I've got fly tying gear( thread) and vice, dremel and epoxy from painting baits.

I always blow on my epoxy after it is mixed on the foil- it de-gasses it so the bubbles come to the top and pop there and don't form on the rod. I always thought the TAT on reel maintenance was pretty long, but I can't judge, since I don't know how many he gets. John always seems to be working in the back on reels and rods when I go in there. I've since learned to do my own reel work.
