    Sudden problems getting on plane

    I have a 2011 521 250 proxs .Fury prop First time I am getting almost on plane then the motor is over reving and then washing out. Couldn't get on plane except randomly, by sling shotting. Still over reving rpm. Later I got an overheat alarm and the motor wasn't discharging the water(pissing) from the lower unit. Pulled in out and nothing wash clogging the intakes. Any ideas what to check. BTW, I am origonal owner and have 300hrs on motor and service every 50hrs. I did flush the system with a hose on the intake.
    Thanks

    I think your question would be better answered over on the Mercury forum. Also, try pulling the prop to see if you have something wrapped around it, or if the hub looks damaged. Good luck.

    Some of what you have said doesn't make sense to me, but based on what I understand and my experiences;
    1. over-rev'ing on holeshot ........ I'm sure you're probably running a Merc prop, thus check your PVS plugs and make sure you've not slung/lost one of those.
    2. not pee'ing and overheating ....... sounds like you need a water pump kit and/or a thermostat issue. This would be best answered on the Merc board.

    Good Luck!

    If it’s not peeing and over heating, you need to check the compressor strainer. Assuming this is a 2 stroke,the tell tale comes from the compressor.

    1st thing I'd do is get the overheat checked out, have you pulled the prop? Seems like the Fury used the prop insert? I've broken that insert before.

    Thanks, I hopefully got it figured out off the Mercury forum! Strainer was totally clogged.
