Trim down on to a board under the skeg, loosen the manual valve on the port side of the bracket. Trim up and down several times, the motor won't move but count to 10 each way. Tighten the manual valve back up check fluid level in trim. Please don't back out more than a few turns and don't over tighten.....

Dont picture me stupid but can you help with locating these

the skeg...dont know what that is.

what does the manual valve look like?

how do i check the fluid level in the trim, i looked for a fill resiviour for the fluid but found nothing. there is a knob with a phillips screw in the middle you turn the screw and the knob also turns and fluid (grayish black) comes out just with little turn.

sorry for the many questions you figure a guy with a boat like this should know his stuff but its my first and i am learning...thank you for your help.

Look on the port side (left) mounting bracket half way down you will see a slot with Manual Release stamped over it. Take a good size straight blade screw driver and give the screw about 3 turns. Don't over loosen it as it is held in by a circlip and if you back it off too much you will have big issues and have to remove the trim unit. One other thing you can try after doing the bleed procedure is to trim the motor up fully, take a piece of 2X4 and place it between the mounting brackets and the motor and trim down on to it, just crack the reservoir, and listen for air escaping. Trim back up remove the wood and try it again. You may have to do the bleed process a time or two but you should be good to go.

thanks for the info i managed to locate the manual release and ran through the sequence 8-10 times with little difference...could the fluid be low? I cant seem to find the place where you add fluid.

Fluid level will be on the right side inside the bracket looking from the back of the engine. Unscrew the cap, if fluid runs out it's fine if not add till it does.
