    Water Pump for 2004 150XR6

Does anyone know the kit number for a water pump of a 2004 Mercury XR6 150? I got one but believe it’s the wrong one. 0T962774

Sure- check out the FAQ Post at the top of the Forum, Sherm's Water Pump Tips (Water Pump Replacement) is right there.

Only things I would add is that I prefer to change in NEUTRAL, and you should NEVER use "grease" on the impeller. Dawn Dish-soap is an appropriate lubricant for the impeller during assembly.

I do, and suggest you do also, as Don recommends. Leave the grease for things that require it, Dawn or equivalent liquid soap works great.

Correct. No grease. As suggested, Dawn Dish-soap.
