    Spoon Fishing

I have a question for you guys that spoon fish a lot. Is there any style or brand that you have found that actually works better than others as in action or user friendly? Also, do any of you use a swivel hooked to the split ring to keep it from twisting up the fishing line? Last question, is it better to fish a spoon with braid or flourocarbon to get the best action?

    Thanks................

I haven't had a ton of success but the swivel helps a ton with line twist. I use fluoro or copoly line. Jigging spoon or flutter spoon?

I use a 6" spoon for Smallmouth believe it or not, it works awesome when they pull off shore eating big white perch. I use a swivel always and fluorocarbon line always. I like to have a feather dress treble hook as well. Use a longer rod to take up the slack when you get hit because its always on the fall. You will need to take up line fast and a longer rod helps tremendously!

For the slab spoon I like the War Eagle or Dixie jet. I usually cut the swivels off of them, I think the fish like to see em spin.
