Mega imaging on Ultrex failure

Have been running the Mega Imaging built into the Ultrex trolling motor with a Helix Gen3 12" unit since September. Displays started to have a lot of interference, screens unreadable, couldn't find bottom, etc. yesterday. Called my local Humminbird rep from the boat and sent him some images via my cell phone. He had me bring the boat to him. He diagnosed the problem - the mega imaging transducer went belly-up. Rep ordered replacement and we hooked up a temporary transducer to the bottom of the Ultrex and tested it. It will suffice until the replacement parts come in. I learned that the Mega transducer built into the Ultrex cannot just be replaced by itself. Anyway, the local rep is great and the replacement unit will arrive Wednesday.

The rep said this was only the third one he has seen fail. He covers a lot of territory around here and has installed a lot of these units.

I don’t think I’d ever by a TM with a built in ducer that couldn’t be simply replaced in my garage.

My mega built in transducer on my ultrex went out; too. It took alabama trolling motors about 2 weeks to get the replacement part. Going to test the fix tomorrow. I Will post a update.

I took the boat out today and my ultrex with built in mega DI transducer worked as advertised. I would like to thank Alabama trolling motors and Airport Marine for their support during this issue.
