Any of you guys fish this trail?
Any of you guys fish this trail?
I fished it the last year Ed Houston was the director. Use to be sponsored by the boat dealer that is now doing this trail. Is a very tough trail fishing against all them locals. I was the first one in this area to win any Skeeter Bonus money fishing that trail. Weighed in a 23 pound sack of fish up there against them boys. Should have won a couple more. Was the last year I fished any tournaments.
Good Luck
I'm thought Ed was still the director of the Mt. Dew trail. I fished a couple of them this year. Tough tough competition IMO! Plan on fishing them all next year.

We're going to make a few rule changes for the upcoming year in the Dew.
1. Trailering will be allowed. If you have to go through a lock you must launch in the lake being fished and go through the lock. Example: if you plan on fishing Wilson lake you can launch at McFarland park and lock up. You can not launch on Wilson. Several teams have recommended this.
2. Random lie detector tests will be administered. I don't think anyone cheats or has ever cheated but with the trailering we're going with it.
3. You must fish five of the seven tournaments to qualify for the championship.
If any of you guys have any suggestions that you think would make the tournament better now is the time to let us know.
Ed gave it up the last year I fished them. He still fishes them. His brother Ricky bought my last Skeeter. Still running it today as far as I know. Ed might be back involved in some shape form or fashion though.
Yes, it is a very tough trail. Those boys are damn good up there and you better strap your boots on if you want to play with them. Takes right at or better than a 20 pound sack to win every tounament. That trail brings out all the guns in that area. I know, my family use to own a place up there for 15 years.
mfd219, can I ask who you are.
Thanks
I own your old Skeeter.![]()
We took a year off from running tournaments last year. We've ran some form of tournament trail for the past 20 years and needed a break. Ed and I brought the Dew Trail back this year on a limited basis just as a trial to see how things went. We plan on running it again next year.
Oh yeah, welcome by the way to BBC!!!!!!![]()

Thought it was either you or Matt from up there at performance. You still running that boat and how is it holding up for you. Glad to hear you and Ed are back involved in that tournament trail. Should make it what it was back in the day. A very good trail with some very stiff competition. Just the kind I like !!!!
Have not fished many tournaments the last couple years. Might have to think about coming and joining you'lls little party a couple times this next year. You or your brother keep me posted and let me know what is going on and when your first tournaments will be.
Take Care and Good Luck. My email address is down at the bottom when you get more information.

PS: I almost forgot. Next time you see ole Matt. Tell him (well, guess I better keep that comment to myself)![]()

We have a tentative schedule just tying a few loose ends up. It should be posted at http://www.mtdewbassin.com within the next couple of weeks.
Boats still running like a sewing machine, no problems with it.
I don't deal with Matt a lot, Ed gets that honor and since he's a tournament sponsor I'll refrain from commenting.![]()
Ricky, good to hear that boat is still taking care of you. Was a good boat when I sold it. Things happen for a reason and I landed in the best boat backed by the best company in the industry. BAR NONE !!!! Those guys sure know how to build them and sure have been good for and to me.
Thanks for the link and will keep an eye out for what is going on. Would love to come up this next year and see if I can find that ole competitive spirit I once had.
Take Care and Good Luck
