    Crappie fishing

Went out this morning with two of my buddies and had a fantastic day on the lake. We had great weather with light winds and partialy sunny with temps in the mid 30's.

Now the good news is that the crappie are turned on like never before. The three of us easily made our limits while being very selective about the ones we kept. If they were not at 10" or better they were being thrown back and we easily worked out way through 75 plus total fish for the day. Hope that there are a few more days like this left in the year.

I'm glad you had some good weather Don. The crappie are fired up at Clinton, Shelbyville and somewhat on Decatur. Every year just before the lakes freeze, is the best crappie bite of the year. Right now Shelbyville is at 38-39 and you only have to hit a couple stumps to get a couple limits. Get out there and get em while you can Don. You fishing Clinton? Are you catching the black nose?

Robert, yes we have been fishing Clinton and as you say it a couple of stumps and lay downs and you have a limit. Most of what we caught were the black nose with a few regulars mixed in, probably 9 out of 10 were the black nose and they were just inhaling the tube.

Have fun on shelbyville, Robert. Looking at the long range weather and it is looking promising into early next week. Hope that I am able to get out a few more times myself.
