    175 e-tec 2007 troubles

    I have a 2007 e-tec 175 on a 219 stratos. when I,m going down the river at
top speed it will run great for about 2-3 miles then it starts slowing down. with the
props I have it goes about 5200 rpm so im not over reving the motor. I talked to
2 dealers and 1 said I need to get my rpms up but I tried a smaller prop and it still
did it. I ran the bigger prop in 2007 with no problems. My speed will go from 59
down to about 40. It kind of lunges when it starts doing it. If I let off the throttle
about half way it will run fine, but it never comes out of the problem at wot until
I stop and take off again it will go wide open for 2-3 more miles and start acting
up again. If I don't floor it it acts fine. It seems like it runs out of gas or a rev
limiter issue. I have a buddy with a 2008 he just got and he has the exact same
boat I have and is having the same troubles. I had mine to two different dealers
and he had his to his dealer and can't find anything wrong. We checked all the
codes and everything checked out on the computer. We checked fuel lines, vent
on tank, ball on fuel line. took tank out and drained it everything good. it seems
alittle cold blooded when I try to take off, but that might be the cold water temps.
dealer called e-tec rep, but doesn,t call him back. Can anyone help me

Yes dealer was in the boat and we hooked it up to the laptop and went for a ride.
It recorded the drop in rpms but dosen't leave any codes. We replaced the ball
on the fuel line and blew thru the gas line and vent and didn't come up with
anything. does the new updates help with anything like that. It seems to be worse
in the colder weather as it did do this early spring 1 year ago and came out of it
when the water temp got into the 50's. The other guy that has the 2008 has all
the new updates in his and it does the same thing. I was hoping someone may
of had the same troubles and figured this out. I have to get the serial # for you
    Thanks for answering so soon.

Did the dealer have a fuel pressure gauge hooked up to the motor along with a vacuum gauge and a piece of clear fuel line to check the boat's plumbing system as explained in the service manual?

A clip on timing light would be another good item to have along to check the spark and the injector signals.
