I'm a novice at best in do it yourself. Model # J30TECDM. The kill switch is a button located on the tiller handle. It has recently quit working. My thought was to replace the existing switch with a lanyard kill switch that I could attach to my body. An old Duckworks article said "all you have to do is disconnect the wires from the push button stop switch and attach the wire to a quick connect plug or in the case of a motor mounted safety kill switch, connect the wires directly to the kill switch. Sounds like something I ought to be able to do. I have been able to take apart the tiller handle into which the button is attached. I cannot find the wires that I need to attach to. All I see coming from the tiller is a single cable that I assume is the throttle wire. Any help would be appreciated.
