    Hard starting 1990 Johnson 115

Hey guys, looking for a little assistance I have a 1990 Johnson 115 vro that is a bear to start when launching or sitting at a spot for awhile. Primer bulb gets hard, checked vent on gas tank (clear), new spark plugs, ran the Johnson’s engine tuner through it, and put stabil in every fill up. I also checked the choke primer and it’s working as it should. The vro has been disabled so I premix the tank 50:1. Any ideas on how I can make this motor fire up quicker?

Do give it some warm up lever when starting? Exhaust relief ports, on the back of the motor, out of the water and motor level or a little higher?

I do utilize the warm up lever but not sure if the relief ports are out of the water & motor level. Usually on the first start once I re engage the throttle it dies on me even after running for a couple minutes

As Juggie says the exhaust relief ports need to be out of the water that will help your cold starts along with the warm up lever.
