I'll be there celebrating the most positive and progressive change to the IBF in a long time.If you know what I mean, I'll buy you a shot in the lobby bar before the hospitality room opens.

So what have you guys on the other side got cooking?
I have since that day in Peoria, too many years ago, that we would all get back on the same page. Unfortunately it hasn't happened yet, but I can hope.![]()
What would you guys like to see changed in the IBF?
toooo much ben! lol!
are you guys going to do the event at powerton again in march? last yr was just to damn cold!
I'm not cooking just. I just like some changes that were made at the Oct B.O.D meeting. I just hope Tom Acton stays involved in some way.

We plan on having it. It was cold last year but the fish cooperated. Ill let you know when we decide on a date.
A few of my ideas for next year are:
1. At the classic I think they should have a cut after the first day maybe take the top 50%. I cant tell you how many times some joker is moving in on the guys leading the tournament.
2. I know its not to feasable but Id like to see em pay out more than 50% at the tournaments. Maybe not give a boat away at the classic.
3. Im not sure why Springfield got overlooked again. So we can go to Rend and Clinton again. Maybe Im a little biased. Hopefully thats were the classic is.

eh... been away to long to know the politics, but I am sure they are plenty.![]()
Hope you guys have a great season, I know the IBFN guys are looking forward to another one.![]()
The problem we have is that IL is so big. It is hard to get participation when you have Tournaments spread from Egypt to Pool 13. All that travel for a $1000.00. I think in these tough economic times we should go back to the North South format of years past. They can stage one IBF trailer in each region. Have two T Dir's and take top anglers from each region to a Classic that would rotate N to S every other year. I would bet participation would increase. we also need to focus more attention on sponsorship, both aquiring and retention.

ben- you have some good points!
-the ibf could pay out more if they would add $15 to the entry fees, if you cant afford $15 then you probly shouldnt be fishing!
-they should also cut the field at the 2 day super tx..
-have the schedule ready for the next year by the end of the season.
-make it where co anglers have to fish from the back no matter what, just like the bfl. it is not fair if one guy fishes from the back all day and another guys boater is to drunk to run a boat, so he fishes from the front all day?
-lose the show up points or lower it to 10pts instead of 25. i think it is crap that a guy can almost make the classic by blanking 2, not going to one event and only catching fish in 2 events.
rob- even if they did go to 2 divisions the guys are still going to bitch about going here or there!
here is an idea if you were to go to 2 divisions;
-have 2 or 3 combined north-south events, so you would have one at pool 19, one at clinton and one at shelbyville (just examples). you would have to fish these to qaulify for the classic.
-then both divisions would have 3 reg. events with the last one being a 2 day event. these events could also be used as qaulifiers for the 6 man or 8 man ordeal, this would help the anglers and the ibf in travel costs.
-to qaulify for the classic you must have fished the 2 or 3 combined events and finish in the top 20 in points in your division.
-instead of having the classic in the fall every year, move it to the spring once in awhile. could you imagine the weights would be at jax or springfield in the spring? maybe even have it earlier, like in august!
i know this sounds confusing, but it is just an idea!
