Favorite lakes and rivers to fish? Least Favorite also!

My favorite lakes are; Jacksonville lake, Shelbyville, and Spring lake by Manito, IL.

For the rivers I like pool 13 and I am starting to like the Illinois river, we had some really great days there this year!

My least favorite places to fish are; Rend, drain it and start over, Banner Marsh, flood it and make one big lake, and I really dislike the Smithland pool.

- Chain of Lakes, mostly the northern lakes
- Delavan in Wisconsin
- Madison chain in WI, mostly Mendota

I live at Sunset Lake, 3 miles East of Otter, hard to leave here when you can go out a catch 50 or 60 in a couple hours an about half will be like this. [IMG][/IMG]

Least Favorite:
Carlyle, which sucks because it is the closest to me. Have not had much luck there. I do more Crappie and White bass fishing than anything. Did have some luck with Whites a few years ago, but not much since.

I like most of the lakes in Southern Illinois. The could drain Carlyle, I would be ok that.

Haven't fished many of the souther IL lakes yet, but plan to try this year. I fish Shelbyville the most cause it's close to home.

Rivers:
Miss Pool 19, but haven't fished it since 1997 when I move down here.

KY Lake (of course by far, but it is a little drive and usually reserved for a 2 day'er)

Lake of Egypt (love the grass in that lake!)

Kinkaid ( beautiful lake, and the lake most like MO lakes). Deep and clear but fishes tough for me.

Ahhh but the big motor loves to stretch out once in a while...likes to drink fuel also I lose more tackle on that lake (to toothy critters).

It is, I believe you have to have a lot or a house out there. I had the pleasure of fishing it this summer with a guy that lives out there...GOOD fish in that lake!

I love Shelbyville Pools 13 and 19 (pre-flood) and Kinkaid

Yes, it is a private lake, about 300 homes. 177 acres of water. Loaded with bass, walleye and crappie. Lake was dropped 4ft. in Oct. for dam and shoreline repair so all boats were pulled early this year.
