I've used mine twice since purchasing, and so far it seems pretty good with my Livescope. I've been using Humminbird most of my life and am seeing why people like Garmin.

I bought one about 18 months ago and used it for LiveScope for about a year. I replaced it on the bow with a 10 inch Ultra to get a larger screen and moved it to the console.
It performed well with the LiveScope but I wanted a larger screen and it does very well on the console.

Little late to be asking since you already bought it….
They are good units and a great unit for the money when you buy them on sale. I was impressed with the image on the 93

Thanks fellas... Mine is almost ready to go... It's been a slow install process based on (1) fishing, (2) lawn mowing, (3) weed wacking, (4) vehicle washing, (5) working, go to (1) and repeat...

You, Sir are an impressive individual!
And recall that you gave me valuable advice on how to fish my 8AWG power cable.

Which overlay are you using on your map?

If you are referring to the screen shot I posted, it is just the built in map. I dislike coloring an entire depth range, too distracting, so I set a range color at the outer bounds. I.e. the green line is 17 to 20 ft.
I can still see depth ranges at a glance and it is easy to follow contours but am not distracted by all the shading. Just me being weird.

I like it. I've been coloring the entire range, and been less than pleased with it - gonna give your method a go!

That's cool. I will have to try that, because I do not like the full shading of the entire range either. Didn't even know you could do that. Learn something new here every day.

    Just a couple additional comments:

I replaced a Gen3 Lowrance with the 93SV and already had the NMEA network. All the devices on the NMEA network ( Point-1 compass and Mercury engine interface) came up and worked on initial power up.
I was not happy with the sidescan until I read on this forum to change it to 455 Mhertz frequency. I’m ok with it now. I have the GT54 transducer but I hear the GT56 has better definition and longer range.

IMO, the UHD 93sv for $699 with a GT54 is a near-unbeatable unit. It is decent screen size, has relatively low power draw, can livescope, and is touchscreen. Pretty darn good value, and will definitely find plenty of fish. However, I have it paired side by side with a 106sv and the processing power difference is stark. The 93sv is slow to render mapping, etc. I got the 106sv on sale with GT54 for $1099, which is also incredible deal. BUT the 106 is substantially heavier, draws twice the power, etc.

I'll probably replace my 93sv UHD with the new 93 UHD2 for the better resolution, mount, and processor. BUT it also draws double the power.

The choice between a 93sv UHD2 with a GT56 for roughly $1100 or the 106sv with GT54 for $1100 (if you can find one?) is very interesting.
