    Question for Seahorse...

I bought a 1990 362V Ranger and want to re-power with a 1998 Ficht which I have on another boat. My current controls for the FICHT are surface mount, I need flush mount for the Ranger. Will the flush mount controls/wiring harness for a 2005 evinrude 225 work for my 1998 150. I used to be a wireman, on cars, trucks and boats, and I do have the shop manual for my 1998, so I could make a few changes if needed for the harness to work. Will the shifter work, I have a HotFoot so I will not need the throttle linkage. Any thoughts or advice? The parts are much too expensive to order...

Yes, wiring for 1996 and later motors is the same. Controls are all the same.
