got some new jigheads to try. I thinkI am going to like them more than my regular jig head. ONLY problem is they are way more expensive.

    Re: new jighead (Schulze)

John I basically use 2 types of jigheads.

One is the football head and the other is a flipping head.

I have a few heads designed for fishing with small worms, but rarely use them.

Glad you found some you like.

I am trying it in place of a slider head. it is a Jobee head by J And J lures. I sports a EWG hook instead of a regular hook.

John those are some great jigheads especially on larger thick bodied worms. You are going to love them

thats good to hear Don. I wish SLider would use a EWG hook. I hate not being able to get it weedless.

    Re: (deavofish)

That particular jighead does not sport a 60 or 90 deg hook which is exactly the same as a texas rig with the weight pegged. The advantage of a jighead is the fact that the 60 or 90 deg hook puts the bait parallell to the bottom. The jighead above will make the bait perpendicular to the bottom.

Schulze I don't like to give up to many of my secrets but there is a guy that goes by the name Greg C that hangs out over on the NC/SC bass club page and he makes a great jighead that i have had good sucess with. they have a long shank hook and he can make them from 1/6 oz all the way up to 7/16 oz and he can color the heads if you want him to. and the price id not to bad. you can email him or IM him with your info and he will get back to you.

    Re: new jighead (Schulze)

    Schulze,

I make jigheads for the shakey technique. We (NC521VX and myself) used over 20 different combinations this year. If you saw Loudmouth Bass Zona, Jay and all the pros using spinning gear used my heads. numerous 4lb plus fish were caught and NC521VX caught two over 5 lbs this year with the 60 degree premium head.

If you want to catch a nice limit just about anytime of the year use the shakey head and a trick worm.

    10 for $5.00 plus shipping of $1.75 60 degree black nickle premium hook 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16 oz

10 for $4.00 plus shipping on the long shank 90 degree 1/16oz or 1/8 oz

    Todd,

The wife has some heavy duty pop blocker program installed so IMs don't get through, sorry. What weight and hook would you like? You can mix and match one style to get the 10% discount. 864-902-8557

    Re: new jighead (GregC)

Guys, I don't fish a worm/jighead much, but if you do, I would definately take a look at those ones that Greg has shown in the photo. The 60 degree bend makes a big difference with any jighead. I only fish that same type bend on my Hula Grubs and other jigs. The difference comes when you set the hook, and the point is in the right location.

Re: new jighead (Bass Hawk 87)

    Don,
Upper style is the one I used on Lanier to smoke Todd's butt (not GregC's though) got a local guy here in Anderson that makes them too but paints them. I'll have you some for Keepoway. Also some of them double secret spoons. Got a tripple secret tip on the DS rig.

John, I use the Jobee's on my tubes they aren't new, but use light heads for the fall, bigger ones for G'Ville Grass.

Re: new jighead (Bass Hawk 87)

    Don,

Thanks for the comment. We (NC521VX & I) had some major heartbreak and hard lessons last year with this technique. Fish jumping off because of wrong hooks and broke lines accounted for about $2,000+ in lost winnings. We feel pretty confident going into this year with the set-ups we have now, hooks, line reels, rods.

    Don,

We turn the phones off at 9:00, 12 week old baby boy that doesn't like to sleep so when he goes down the phones go off, leave a message is fine. Tell me what you want and I'll send them out Saturday. We do business the old fashion way, send a check when you receive the merchandise. I'll be home tomorrow morning 7-10.
