I recently bought a new to me boat. 1991 482v.
It has this motor on it. What can you tell me about this motor and what to expect.

The '91 150 FastStrikes were very hot motors putting out about 177 HP, till Merc cried foul and OMC had to recall them and detune them to within the 10% rule, something with the heads. maybe yours was'nt recalled. I know someone on here knows the original head part numbers. Maintained well they are great reliable motors with some issues with pack failure. Check the carb bowls for warpage (leaking,if plastic)Do not use NGK plugs, Champs only.Nice Rig

91 head part number is 335195, it is the only year they used them. 338311 is the head used most commonly on a FS.
Oddly enough, the heads on my engine cross to the 91 model when I checked online at a parts house.
One of these days, I am going to get a set and compare them to the 338311's and see what the difference is.
They are great little motors.

You don't want to get rid of that 200. Those are sweet. I had a 97, man I loved that engine.
