    For the BAIT guys

    Whoa momma!
Jocassee is gonna be tough Saturday! Let sleeping beauty rest and got to the lake about 1030, forgot what a beautiful lake this is. Spotted some fish cruising that would go 5 easy and that was all they were doing cruising. Fished all over the lake and never got a bump. It is tough when your shallowest H20 is 20' and you can see the old beds! H20 temp on the top was 68-73 depending where you were.

Re: For the BAIT guys (deavofish)

If Don knows the double secret way to Keowee via 123 hop off on HGWY 11 towards Wallhalla and just stay on that road. When you see "Becca's kitchen on your left you will have about 1.5 miles to go. All of a sudden you will see a sign that points left to Jocassee that is the turn then it is all twisty turny road down to the ramp. It is a state park and it will cost you $2.00 each just for the privaledge to use it ! The lake is GIN clear you can see blow downs in 20' of H20 so down size. I tried a super fluke today just twitching and sinking and could see the fish in 15' of H20 going up and giving it a look ! One word of caution if you go up any of the rivers too far you will be in NC and there is no reciprocal agreement between them and SC. Fred

    Todd,
Running down the lake I had to keep hitting my DF I was reading 320' thought the dad gum thing was broken and that was 20' off of the shore ! BTW there are no houses up there just a few chalet's that the State has at the park. Absolutly gorgeous Mountains all around and a waterfall at the end of every river !

That sounds exactly like Carters....no houses or docks....a couple camp grounds, lots of 80ft tall trees just beneath the surface....the deepest I've seen was 378ft....my old Loomis rod is in 100ft of water,20ft off a shoal marker

May bring the tanks anyway. Give me something to do. I think Jocassee get to about 600 feet. Cold and dark down there.

    Re: (Tripp T.)

Jocassee has some huge Small Mouths. The State record came from there and is over 9 pounds. I would try a drop shot rig or maybe even taking a Carolina rig
and fishing a Floating worm or even fishing a top water lure on it. That way it'll be a couple foot off bottom. Just a couple pointers someone had given to me.

PS... If the weather starts looking bad get to shelter, Jocassee can get rough real fast.
