How can the BFL have a 12" size limit on Okeechobee when there is an 18" for the lake?

Hey Connor, they get size exemptions specifically for the tourney, issued by FWC.

An exemption exempts you from the law. Some clubs have no size minimum....

Like a 12" is gonna do anything for you in a TX that took 30lbs to win as boater and almost 20lbs as coangler.

only from "size" limits not bag.........some lakes you can only take 3 fish period

something most people don't think about is without permits its illegal to have more than one fish per person over 22inchs or 2 as a team.........thats the other reason they need permits could you imagine letting the 3rd 10lber you caught that day go instead of weighing it in

me neither extreme tournament trial has a rule that its only one 22 inch+ fish per person so if you fish alone you can only bring one in.......

had a guy last year whose partner didn't make the tourney and the guy won big fish with an 11 and half pounder and was pissed because he finished in 2nd place with 22lbs he had to relase another 11+ pounder that just barely tipped the cull beams

not sure what I would have done my self but my gut reaction would have been to bring them both in and take the DQ but have bragging rights for the rest of my life how many times are you really going to catch two 11+ in one day
