Question about the Istapoga canal?

Hello Gentlemen,
I was wondering if anyone knows about the Istapoga canal where it meets the Kissimee river. Does it connect ok. I look at google earth and it gets fuzzy at the junction. I was considering staying at River Ranch off of Highway 60. That way I could fish all the way up to Toho, all the way down to Chobee and all the way over to Istapoga. Thanks for any input.

I do not believe you can get thru the Istapokga canal to the Kissimmee river. I fished down there for years and never heard of any one going thru that canal.I think there is a water control lock on it.

You can't get from Istokpoga into the Istokpoga canal but you can access the Istokpoga canal from Kissimmee River.

Ah Hah. I guess they must have a gate at the canal on the lake.
