I don't and probably won't.......nothing against it though.....I just have enough of a hard time casting out and crank'n back in "normal" stuff and holding out all day doing it.
I've seen all sorts of gadgets made and for sale over the years, and I've even bought a few of them....have even "invented" a few myself. But I always come back to one simple conclusion with me......the day that I can't catch enough fish by catching them one at a time, is the same day that I need to just quit and go home. Besides that, 95% of my fishing is casting at specific targets like cuts in banks and/or natural structure. On any given cast, I'm looking to be accurate enough with my throw to ring a 5 gallon bucket, and I'm looking to run the lure at a certain depth, speed, and path back to my boat. The difference for me is much like hunting deer with a rifle, or using a shotgun with buckshot.....both will work, it's just that I prefer the accuracy of the rifle better.

There are three types of people in this world, those who can count and those who can't!
The problem with this invention, and the inventor will be this....and I sent word to one of this guys friends to this effect a few months ago. If this thing gains any popularity to it at all, he will most certainly see a cheap copy of it out there before he even gets started good.
I've done been there and done this with the patten thing and all. When it comes to this type stuff, there is very little if any patten protection in this area. If the invention is only considered an improvement, or a modification of, then there is even less protection. There are very few fishing inventions now days that are considered an actual invention..only an improvement or modification of.
I don't make efforts to ever burst someone's bubble or excitement about something like this, but I do hate to see good folks invest time and effort into something when there is little if any chance that they'll see a return on their investment. In my own efforts in the past, and my own looking into, I found this one point that I'm about to make a common thread with all this sorta stuff.
If is a good thing that people will buy, then make a bunch of it and sell it as soon as you can. Bottom line... the market gets crowded really quick, and the one that makes the most, sells the most first, is the one that makes much profit. The cost of patents, and especially international patents (which China ignores and America excuses) plus the cost of product liability insurance makes investing much time or money into things like this not so good of a deal at this time. Place a rotten economy to where most areas of recreation are now sucking wind on top of that, and I really just can't see it happening for these guys. But to each his own I guess....and I say go for it if you don't have anything to loose !!!
There is an old saying "nothing ventured, nothing gained"....the last time (a couple years ago) when I approached my lawyer with a similar type thing.....he looked me straight in the eye and said....nothing ventured, nothing lost too.![]()
