Thats what I figured it was but wast shure
Blow off valve or pressure relief valve are the common terms. Instead of a separate spring loaded valve, some motors have springs attached to the thermostat body and the whole assembly moves off a rubber seat to pass pressurized water through the block.

The big block both BRP/Hammer are all on giant pressure cooker, come out of the H20 lower it on the trailer and see how much comes out.
