heading to lake guntersville after I pick up my new boat

Hello all,
I am picking up my new boat outside of Huntsville friday and I am thinking about going to Guntersville to fish sat and sun. I am thinking about fishing and staying down by browns creek.

I was wondering where i should stay and where i should launch the boat??
Also, does anyone have any advice on where/what to fish this time of year around browns creek??

I just graduated college (University of Toledo) and moved to Memphis where i got my first job. I have not been down south long so I really need help when it comes to fishing guntersville.....

If your going to stay down around Browns, your probably going to want to stay around downtown Guntersville. Several hotels to choose from: Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Days Inn, Super 8, what used to be Covenant Cove (it's now called something else but I don't know what the name is). Also several places to launch from down there. Couple of boat ramps right off Hwy 69 on Browns Creek, also all of the above mentioned hotels are within sight of Spring Creek. There is a boat ramp right there in Spring Creek right off Hwy 431 on Wyeth Dr.

Wish I could help you with some fishing, but I haven't been up there since the fall, so I don't know what's going on. Friend of mine said they caught some decent fish on jerkbaits. If I were going Friday I would be throwing a trap, jerkbait, and a jig and trying to find some grass (usually this time of year, you should find fish somewhere between 6 to 12 ft, depending on the water temp).
