    Sign Alan & Harry up.
On the start time, I think daylight this time of year is more like 4:30 a.m., not 6:30 a.m.

It's the same place. At least that's how it's identified on my Atlantic Mapping topo map of Smith Lake.

My boat is at C&O getting the once-over hopefully waiting on a new owner, so I'm hitching a ride with a good friend to go fishing this Saturday.

You are right about that. It was all in one piece when I left it. Hopefully it still is.

Too late to do that this Saturday. Kenneth is going fishing with his son and I have a buddy coming down to let me tag along with.

Re: NoAl Chapter - Sign up to fish Smith Lake in October (AveryF)

Okay, guys, I got some rather disturbing information about Smith Lake that I thought I'd pass along.

First of all, there's a 160+ boat tournament scheduled on Smith this Saturday. They're launching from the ramp at the dam so I don't really think that'll be too much of a problem.

The other piece of information involves lake levels. One of the sales guys that we deal with has a place on Smith just up the creek from the ramp we're using stopped by the office today. He actually lives in Madison but was there for a couple of hours after work yesterday and he mentioned that the lake level was extremely low right now. And he's under the impression that the Cullman County Park ramp may very well be closed. He said that he was going to try and get in touch with one of his neighbors to check it out but wasn't sure he'd be able to. Obviously, we need to make other plans if that is indeed the case.

Can anyone verify that the ramp is still open before Saturday?????

If lake levels are so low you can't use Smith Lake Park, you can use Speegle's which is just up the road.

I got an e-mail from Alan who said that Harry's going to check it out for us. I haven't heard anything yet but I'd be real surprised if we can't find a ramp somewhere on Smith!
