It seems anywhere I go is super tough for me now. Upper Bear is the the closest to me, thats why I voted for it. I've fished it most of my life, probably never caught one bigger than 2 lbs, but I have seen a bunch over 8 lbs. brought out it. You guy's have fished it before, what kind of weights did ya'll have at weigh in?

We've actually fished there twice - in November '06 and July '07 - and, if I remember correctly, fairly small weights won both times. In fact, I think I even won the November '06 tournament with a small limit weighing just seven or eight pounds. I caught all of them on a 'trap around the few remaining shoreline grass beds. I never would've figured to do well since I had never fished there before and all we had to go on was one of those BCDA outline maps that Tommy Baker (Team Tar) had marked and gave to everyone during registration.

There are some decent fish there, though. I fished it back in March of this year with with Danny Howell (fishcraze) and his son, and Danny caught a really nice one that probably would've gone 3 1/2 to 4 pounds. Unfortunately, I think they were all in that tough post-spawn mode and that was the only "decent" fish we caught that day. At least we now know firsthand that there are some good fish in there, though!!

during the spring 25 and up wins it. i mean i fish there alot and harldy ever catch any good fish but i did win a tourny there once.

i agree its only 15 minutes from my house also but it would be a long ways away from everyone else. i dont think there has been a tourny on Ceader or Little Bear. its bad low is the only thing i mean i know how to run them but im not sure about everyone else.

I've got the in-law's Christmas get-together that night, so I'll refrain from voting until closer to the cutoff. If it's close enough to the house, I'll vote and try to swing it most of the day and just let Eric weigh in our five if I have to leave early.

upper bear has become one of my favs for sure. I've fished it 4 or 5 times the past year and half and have 3 trips with a fish over 4lbs including a nice spot of almost 5 and a LM over 5 both with Tommy. I wouldnt mind fishing there myself, but I'm not sure I can fish that day yet.
