I have fished in worse lately. I don't think it will be that bad if the wind does not kick up.

Boy! The National Weather Service sure made a huge change in their forecast. The link in my original post was to a page on the NOAA website noting a possible winter storm warning for the Columbiana area with a high Saturday in the mid-30's and a 90% chance of sleet and freezing rain. Makes 50 degree temps and a 40% chance of rain seem spring-like in comparison, doesn't it?!?

I'm glad you got a better forecast. All the ones that I still see are showing mid to upper 30's for the highs on Sat. and a winter storm watch for all day north of B'ham. It's already dropping in Cullman. It was 50 degrees when I got up this morning and now its 41 at lunch. I just watched the Channel 13 (B'ham) mid-day news and they are still saying from noon on we could see ice/sleet falling and freezing bridges. I don't think it will be a problem south of B'ham (Lay Lake) but for us guys from the north it might be a tough ride home. Especially you Avery, you have a long drive and it will be much colder up your way. Harry and I really want to be there but if the forecast tonight is still for ice/sleet we may not make it. The cold doesn't both me from a fishing point of view but ice on the roads driving home would bother me a lot. I also really hate to miss the free breakfast that Todd is buying everyone in the morning. I hope the forecasters are wrong but I'm not willing to bank on it. I'll try to post late tonight if we plan to come or not.

I guess we are going to try and make it. The latest forecasts look like we will be able to get back home. See you in the morning.

Yeah, I'm going to try to make it too. Fortunately, Chris is bring his boat so at least I don't have to worry about trying to trailer a boat in some potentially bad weather.
