Can really improve handling, gets prop in cleaner(less turbulant) water which lets you run your engine higher with a bigger prop resulting in more lift & higher top end.

Ive heard the 8" is what you want. I have a 05 21x and I have a 6 on mine. Im thinking Wheels is who told me to put 2" spacers on it to get to 8"
The 8" jackplate is optimum. You'll pick up about 1-2 mph with a 10" plate but the overall gain would not be worth the added cost. The setback gets the prop/motor back away from the "dirty" water created by the boat to water interface that generates turbulence. With the hydro plate, you'll be able to tweak the setting on the fly. Also get the gauge with it when you have it installed.
8" would be the best IMO

i have a 10 inch cmc high speed hyd on a 03 tr 21 with a 250 pro xs had to mount the motor in the fourth hole to get the right height on the motor but it made a huge difference in how the boat handles made the rough water ride better too and went from high 60s low 70s now best to date is 78.8 but i was only turning 5600 to 5700 and still had some pedal left![]()
