I was wondering the tr 186 weights about 300 lbs more I'm thinking about trading my 2008 18 explorer with 115 opti. For a 2006 tr 186 with a 150 opti. Does the tr have any wood in it.
Besides speed what other advantages the tr would have thanks
No wood in any Tritons....ever!
The seating in the 186 should be nicer as well as the latches and even the trailer.
Very much the same running surface and overall hull.

The TR series has one more layer of laminate than the Explorer and that is where the 300# comes from. This is what my dealer told me.
So that means tr is better hull more weight = more stability
At what speed will the tr start to chime walk
My explorer doesn't but top speed is 52 gps
The current 18Explorer is now rated for 150HP, when the boat was rated for 115 it was lighter.
