Triton Emergency Ladder

If a fellow had a way to buy one
Is there a way to install it in an older Triton?
specifically my 2003 TR21

If installable, what would it take?

I think you can. I would use a good marine glass man to do the install..Robbie or Rodney will know if it will fit in the sponsons of your particular rig..

Would this entail removing the top cap or not?

Re: Triton Emergency Ladder (runngunn)

I would not want to try it on my boat.
The top cap is really not removable but you would have to cut a cavity for the female part and hope that the end cap would fit close.

Thanks Robbie

That's what I was afraid of
There is a ladder on eBay right now for 70 bucks which got me to thinking

Re: Triton Emergency Ladder (AreTheyBiting)

I have an 03 triton and my buddy has a 04 triton. When that ladder first came up for auction, I checked out the 04 because it has a factory ladder. It will not worked on my 03 because the back section of the boat is built differently than the 04. It will definitley not work as a factory looking style mount.

Re: Triton Emergency Ladder (Roger Henderson)

Oh well, it was worth a try though. Guess I will just use the hydraulic trim on my motor and the trim foil as a step to get back in if I ever fall out. Luckily it hasn't happened yet.

Re: Triton Emergency Ladder (runngunn)

I would imagine that it would be a matter of cutting the correct size hole in the rear of the boat. I've looked at mine and it just sits in its own "sleeve". Not sure about securing it to the boat though.

Re: Triton Emergency Ladder (cpacheco)

After seeing the picture of the one for sale on Ebay I don't think it will work since my stern area is not really molded to accept the sleeve, plus I wouldn't want to remove my top cap. Thanks for your input though.

Re: Triton Emergency Ladder (AreTheyBiting)

There are other options, do a search for "Boarding Ladder". I think you can find something that will work. Garelick and Metalogic are a couple of manufacturers...
Like Rick said the e-Ladder is an option too. It's a bit pricey new... http://www.basscatstore.com/e-ladder.aspx

On a 04 or newer the bottom half of the rear section has a pocket to receive the approx. 34 inch ladder package. On the 04 and newer the factory cuts the hole and inserts the ladder kit.

The ladder can not be added to the older boats, it is built into the foam box.

My last boat had a Yammie on it and you could use the cavitation plate as a step. Mercs dont have that big of a cav plate.
