    1999 TR19 ?

My TR19 livewell plugs are allowing a lot of water in. The pumpout screen cover makes it hard to get the plugs in and they fit kinda loose. Do I just need to get new plugs? I think I have read that some people plug the overflows as well, is that something I need to do as well to keep from carrying around a bunch of water?

When I had my tr20 in wrapped some electrical tape around them to make them tighter before I got the new ones....I also drilled a small hole in the tab on the plug and put a zip tie in each one to make it easier to pull them out....

+1:thumbup: on the electrical tape and hole with zip tie in plug. I also put plugs in the overflows to keep from losing any water while running and to just keep my livewells as full as possible to minimize any sloshing of the water while running.

If those ideas don't help, check to be sure the water isn't coming in through the fill pumps when you are in reverse. That's what my 2000 TR-20 does whenever I rev it in reverse. I thought it was coming in through the plugs, but nope. I've been told it's the nature of the beast on the early Tritons and it still happens to this day. I haven't found any way to prevent it, so I just got in the habit of running the pumpouts after using reverse hard. Hope this helps.
