Can someone tell me the difference between a 201 XLPRO and a 294?
294 is 19'6"
201 is 20'8" (Pro/XL NOT the Evo)
294 rated for 200 hp
201 Pro XL rated for 250 hp
Within about 3-4 mph of each other set up correctly.
I've owned both. If you can swing the cash, the 201 is the nicer of the boats. I had a 294 w/ 200 HPDI. Best I saw was 76.x. Had two 201's with 250 HPDI's. One hit 80. One hit 79.
Both are great boats.

Sure. The 201 rides better. It's longer and wider.
Both are a performance style of boat, so you will have to give a little steering input to get the most out of either.

The 201 is and definitely does feel bigger. The 294 is a great boat, but I actually got it after owning two 201's. I'd have another 294 in a heartbeat, but I personally liked the 201's better.

I have a 2002 20xl pro star does anyone know what that hull is similar too?
Is it like a 200xl?

No. The XL boats are sort of their own deal if I remember right. They were somewhat of a cross between the SS Extreme boats they were supposed to replace and some new designs. They didn't last long and when Javelin was closed down, they used the 400 hull to make the 200 (added the floating consoles and other top cap changes).
