    Stratos 270

I recently purchased a 1994 Stratos 270 DC with 150 Evinrude. It is in good condition for a 17 yr old boat and everything works as it should. The only items that aren't original are the MK trolling motor (was OMC), and the carpet. Has original Stratos and Evinrude owner manuals. Hopefully I have good luck with it. Since the original post, I've had many good trips in the boat!

Thanks, I hope to have good luck with it. What can I expect to pay for a 798 with ram mount?

I feel your enthusiasm! I just bought a "new to me" 1996 Stratos 288 this week... STILL haven't had time to put it in the water...and it's killing me!

    Congrats on the new boat!

Re: "NEW to Me" Stratos 270 (Boat4Life)

I have a '94 270 as well, mines a DC. I am second owner bought in '06, great boat designed by the legend Earl Bentz who started Triton, I believe. I thought I would have upgraded by now, but alas the economy has taken its toll. Rod lockers too short for anything over 6" is my only complaint, but it fits nice in my 24' garage. Rods get strapped on deck and rod locker used for storage.

I have had boat out at least a few hundred+ times now and with very minor maintenance issues, passenger wind shield replaced twice, ordering a new glove box latch now and new pumps. Drain plug is in so tight I fear breaking it taking it out, so it's never been taken it out and no problems since garage stored, and I never have to remember putting it back in. Need to get livewell timer switch replaced, but since I dont tournament fish anymore it's not a real issue. C&O marine has the switch I believe.

It is a fairly light boat, gets on plane fast, compared to most others and gets places larger boats can't.

The boat also launches and loads real easy, I really like the swing bow roller. Almost no maintenance on trailer except lights, bearing buddies (after market, one fell off put stock ones back on) and ground wire. Recently a bud while winching onto trailer on steep no power load launch with three passengers on board over stressed winch and stripped gear teeth, replaced with one from walmart in a hurry only rated for 1200 llbs but pulls boat on trailer easier.

A good tip, the larger plano containers fit nicely under starboard locker lid in front of console, I fit I think around 10 and marked them for fast identification. Seats fold up with cooler and tool storage underneath. I put holes in these to let water drain out into hull.Center seat back folds for step to back deck.

My Troll Well and forward seat post holder w/ taller seat pole and butt seat was about the first upgrade I made and well worth it. Also installed new sonars and stereo and made a collapsible boarding ladder that fits nicely next to passenger seat. The first owner installed a cig lighter power outlet under drivers console, comes in handy for spot light at night.

A deck extension would also be a good upgrade, but I like the area for extra leg room when family aboard. Would like to make a removable one someday when I recarpet.

It is really a great boat and my buds with newer much more expensive rigs comment how reliable it has been compared to theirs.

You are really going to enjoy it.

Hey ShannonBassMan, I have the same boat! I've been looking for a passenger side windshield also. You wouldn't happen to remember where you got it, or what the part number for it was would you?

Custom mold and tint, had to send in my old ones in pieces for some reason, maybe since there are no part numbers and they may be matching up the holes. The ones that came back were not exactly the same but fit nice. I believe they were around $120 after shipping.

Where was it you ended up buying them from? My problem would be that I don't have anything left from my old windshield. Maybe the place you got yours from kept the mold?
