Which lower unit is on the motor, sport master or torque master?
If your going to run a heavily loaded boat then I would go with a Merc Bravo, if you want a three blade prop then a worked Tempest or Fury is the way to go. I would start out about 3 to 3 1/2 inches below the pad on the jackplate and go up from there.
Speeds will depend on load but I would say upper 70's and maybe 80 if it's set up right. I had a buddy with a 2003 prostar with a 250 XB and it would run 80 all day long. The XB's are great motors but they love gas and oil, especially if you keep it on the floor.
Congrats on the new boat, how about some pics????
Justin, shoot me an instant message for my cell number or call me if it is still on file at the shop there. I'll help you bud.

28 Bravo 1 would be baddazz on that setup, I can send you one to try.You have always been a huge help to my friends.

Bravo1, Hydromotive X-OB, TXP 3 blade if its got water pickups in the nose, if not then a worked Tempest, or Fury.

I am not sure what lower unit comes on the boat.
The prop that is coming with the boat is a 4 blade 26 pitch trophy????

The motor pic shows a three blade prop??? any idea what brand that prop is??? So i can tell the dealer that this is the prop that came with it orginally.
JUSTIN
It is hard to tell what brand of prop that is by the pic, but it looks like a torquemaster lower unit and a Mercury Tempest prop to me.
Torquemaster yep, and probably a Tempest

Thats a good lookin rig your gonna love it. As flippin said thats a torque master LU it will have water pickups in the nose. Should have 1.75 gears. Bravos haul a load very well, great out of the hole, and good speed. Hydromotives X-OB's are the same, but more stable at speed than a Bravo IMO and maybe a little faster. A Turbo TXP 3 blade or ASX if you can find one would also work well and haul the mail with that combo. Boat should bust 80 easy.

Wonder what size and pitch tempest that is????
JUSTIN
If you get a chance to try a 27 Fury it may work on that rig. The 27 Fury runs real good on my 200XL w/250 ProXS.

I would think it has to be a 27.

I appreciate all the help guys. I will post some on the water pictures and give you some numbers when the weekend is over.

The prop is a Tempest plus , iwould say at less a 26 or 27 pitch .
Great looking rig, that XB will carry the mail!!
