    fuel gage quit!!

I was out riding and fishing today in my 2000 19ss extreme, and about 5 mins before I loaded the boat I turned the motor off for about a minute. I fired her back up and the fuel gage never started working again? What do I need to check first?

mine just up and quit all at once. I guess I'll just pull the gage out and check it first then go from there tracing wires.

a lot of the OMC boats had the sending unit wire routed on the front of the tank very close to the seat plate. mine fraid in to . splice it and re-routed , not a problem since ....oh , ...take the plate off behind your seats , you may be able to find the problem there instead of taking the seats out

DTS, I fixed mine today. I pulled the cover over the fuel tank on the back deck, then pulled the float out of the top of the tank. When I got the float out it had corrosion and a little rust on it. I honestly think the float was just stuck. I worked it for a few minutes by hand then tried to clean the corrosion from the wire terminals. I never pulled the entire unit out of the tank just the upper part. I put it back in, turned the key on and voila! Works like a champ now. Hope this helps you out on your 21ss!

My 19ss didn't have a plate behind the seat, I had to pull one of the back deck board over the tank.
