I'm looking to put a 898 at my console of my Stratos 294xl. Can someone give me suggestions on which Ram Mount to use?? I see there are different size balls and materials. I went to the site and they suggested Ram-D-111U-C 3x11 base with a 2 1/4 ball and a 3.68 round base. Looks like a metal material. Looking for input and possible pictures of your mount. Thanks in advance for your help, Jeff
thats what I would use. Just got the smaller 597 ci hd di with the 1.5" ball RAM and it would prob work for you but if you ever get on rough big water the larger Ram is recommended.

Fry, I had my 898 on the 1.5. It did everything I ever needed it to. Having said that, I just replaced it with a 2.25, for no good reason, besides bigger is better.
when i had my 898, i had it on an 1.5" RAM and it worked fine.
