Runs fine now. Had some setup issues to start with and rpms were low and Evinrude got it adjusted out to run 70 71 at 5700 rpm.

The prop is listed above 26" Raker II. 2 people, full tx load, took a lot of the plastics out but ran that with it in there. Almost 3/4 full of fuel. Believe me it wouldnt run that after i blew the powerhead at 18 hrs. And evinrude replaced but the setup had to be adjusted to get it back to that speed.

Greg and crew. There seems to be some skepticism about this 201 running 70. Greg...go ahead and put that 225 HPDI on and see what ya get. With regard to a 200 on that class boat...I run a "lead sled" by comparison. A Champion 203 with a 200 vmax and with out hydraulic JP for fine tuning will get 65mph with FULL Tx load and my partners 275lbs butt in the passenger seat. My boat is not a fast hull at all. I thought about going to a 225 HPDI and the dealer said to get rid of some crap in the boat and get the prop worked and save $20 grand. That 200 HO is very impressive. I rode in that boat with 3 fisherman and it moves daddy-o.
Most will tell ya or agree that most 200 and 225 motors have the exact same configuration and are tweaked with minor adjustments to get from 200 to 225. With the 200 HO I bet it has the dual benefit of 225 base motor and the HO boost. I bet that 200 HO will run just as fast as base 225HPDI.
As a basis of comparison for me...a friend has the same 203 as I do. He dropped a 250HPDI on as a repower and will get 74 fully loaded with Tx load.
HO motors are strong. Heck if the 250 HO can push a Ranger 70+ it must have a nuclear reactor under the cowl :-D :-D

Please dont misunderstand me, I am not skeptical, I am jealous!![]()
I have a 225 HPDI, I am on about my 6-7 prop, and it has seen 73.2 once w/ only me, almost no gas, 1/2 a tx load of tackle and 2' chop (and it was chine walkin like a Triton). Tourney days I get 67-68 at very best. I am looking at maybe doin a 26 fury prop or maybe even a 4 blade of some sort.....my 25T1 has been best tx loaded, but 70.0 once isn't really that impressive.
This has been 18 months of chasing a constant 70.0 tx loaded and I have been real patient w/ tuning, set-up, weight dist, props etc. My buddy has a 21' skeeter, same engine and prop, loaded the same and GPS 74 consistently. 6 mph is a LOT of difference.

Greg,
I know you probably checked it but I had to have Evinrude tell me the type gearcase i have allows me to have my motor very high on the transom, mine was at least 1-3/4 inches lower than they wanted it to be and granted I am fixing to try and drop it 1/4" due to me trimming it too high and it runs hot if i miss that magic trim location to get to the 70- 71 mph. i hope it will adjust that when i lower it about 1/4". What Larry said about the 200 vs the 225, my dealer told me that as well and it was due to the etec ho package is the justification he gave and it was the same for the ho 225 and the ho250. their adjustments for horsepower were only a little different inside the computer at least that was what i was told.

Mr. Nesbitt has a strong running motor one of the best running 203's I've ever been in.

The 250 HO is a 3.4 L motor and is very close kin to the 300.![]()
<table width="90%" cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0 align=center><tr><td>Quote, originally posted by stratos20108 »</td></tr><tr><td class="quote">one more question? greg what rpm is it running?</td></tr></table>
I ran as good as I have ever ran yesterday loaded;
2 people (400+ lbs), tourney loaded (All boxes full), 1/2-3/4 gas, both live wells full, damaged 25T1...and I mean damaged. 69.6 @ 6000 RPM, 2.75" below pad. 2' chop w/ 50 degree water and 55 degree air.
My buddy said when I passed him (He was sittin fishing) the boat was lifted very high and had a 20' rooster tail. Its never done either, and what I did was over trim it and drop the j/p almost 3/4". When it sounded like the prop was slippin it was still getting bow lift and would gain 1/2 mph but add 500 rpms. If I trimmed town a tad to get bite the rpms would drop to a safer point but speed would drop too.
Advice?!?!
