On my 2007 StratosTrail the hub has a black plastic center cap surrounded by a chrome ring that has a spring behind it. Before I mess something up, do I pry out the black cap to access the grease fitting or do I remove the chrome ring first?

My guess is your hubs are oil filled.
I thought that I was told at the dealer that they were oil filled, but after seeing a few posts on oil filled hubs having a see through front I am not sure. All of my previous trailers had visible alamite fittings covered with a bearing buddy cover.I see no way to view the oil level on my hubs. Any help appreciated.I don't want to pry off something and wind up replacing a hub.
they are see thru, but the oil makes it black. I made the mistake of tryign to pry mine off. needless to say I had to call the trailer manufuacture to get a new one. leave them alone if you do not see oil behind the wheel.
Go to UFPnet.com select axels and gold series have manual on the oil bath hubs if you need help call them they are great to work with.![]()
