    My new 294 XLE

This is a picture of my 294 xle that I bought last spring. This is her maiden voyage during my annual spring fishing trip to Guntersville. This boat is awsome for anyone looking for a bass boat in the 19 foot range.

Re: My new 294 XLE (jfaulkner32)

There are some things that I would like to do to it to increase her top end speed. Right now I'm running right at 70 mph on my actia guages. I don't have a jack plate. I would like to put a 6 inch on but I can barely fit the boat in the garage as it is. I wanted to cut a hole out for the engine in the back wall but of the garage but the wife wasn't keen on that idea. The way the boat is set up now it doesn't even throw a rooster tail. Is there any adjustments that I might make to give it a little more top end. It doesn't really start to chine walk until you get to about 67-68.

25p Vmax prop. Engine is bolted second hole from bottom.

Check this thread out. You should be running at least 74-75 if you put a 6 in plate on it. This hull also likes a bigger pitch prop. The two that I have tried to set up ran a 27 TXP. That prop will make that boat smoke the water. 6" or 8" set back is probably best.

No rooster isnt a bad thing. If moneys tight go with a 6" plate. If you can swing it an 8" makes it handle better and chinewalk will not be a problem. Go with whatever MD says as far as props, hes got Yamaha expirence.

Its not totally the hull as much as it is these 200hp motors with tall gears and a sub 6000 rev limit. Ya got to prop them like that to get max performance and stay off the limiter.
