From an old B&WB article they claim mid 80's with a 225HO. That sounds more like 250 numbers to me though. Maybe somone with one will chime in.![]()
Seems I heard a while back the C&O bunch took one up in the 90's.

I always liked the ASX. I don't have numbers but it was a good hull design.
Check out this vid from the Jasper River Run 2008.
Look what comes strolling down river at approximately 1:07 min into the video. . .

Love seeing that video...lol.
These things are now 7 years old. There are very few out there, but with as advanced as the materials and build were at the time, I'm curious as to if there were ever any problems. And if so, who in the world would fix them...lol. Carbon fiber stringers and all....

That is an awesome video. I have a 201 Evo now and it will break 80, but that ASX looked like a whole different animal.

They should start making them again - i would buy one
Bought a white/black/red one from C&O in August. It had 12hrs on it with 225 HO. Came from factory. So far with full gas 51g/gear/2 guys and about 30 rods I have ran 77 up river and 81 down. By myself on another lake with no current I have run 82.7 with half the gas and gear. This was all with 6" plate and 28 raker. when it was set up like this I could not trim it out all the way because I would spin the 28 raker over 6000 rpm. I since have put a 10" plate on and bought a 28 TXP(stiffer than raker) which should bring my rpms down an allow me to run WOT full trim. Havnt had chance to run it though. Not until spring. Its a handful to drive but not bad once you get some seat time with it.

It was an amazing and fast boat. The boat was built for speed for sure! Mine had a 10" plate, with a Yamaha 250 HPDI. I think the factory guys got one up to around 90. Best speed I got out of it was 83mph, but it would run 80 all day long with as much stuff as you could put in it, two guys and the livewells full!! Just AWESOME!![]()

I just sold one, boat number 22. Ran it for almost 4 years. Easily the prettiest boat I have ever seen. Narrow pad with a slight v to it, makes it more load sensitive and more finicky to balance but much less dramatic if you let it fall off pad. Best speed was 84.6 super light, loaded down mid seventies was the norm depending on temp. Weight really effected handling and speed but that was because of the slight v shaped pad. Absolutely NO hook to the pad, didn't like being ran much under 40, ran 60mph at 4500 RPM and drove so easy at that speed you could wrap Christmas presents. Was prone to skip a little if tried to turn at higher speeds, was best to trim it down bury the nose a little and bleed off some speed first. A challenge to prop, best running prop I found was a 28p bravo 1 worked by Mark Croxton, 26p Fury was strong but too many RPMS, I think a tweaked 27p Fury would be awesome on the ASX 225HO combo. The transom was STRONG but the rest of the boat fell short of the engineering quality on the business end. It really really REALLY needed low water pickups on it, be easy on the lower unit of the 225HO ficht, but you can give it heck on top, they are stout and love RPM's. I believe if someone put the right motor on one and broke the 90mph mark, the boat would really come to life.

There is two of them for sale here on BBC.
Find you a 29 ASX prop. These were made by Turbo (TXP is supposed to be the same prop, but it's not) specifically for the ASX boat. I ran one on my 200 ProXL with the 225 H.O. E-TEC and it was the best prop I found. Great holeshot and super topend. Made my 200 Pro an 80+ boat light and a 78-79 mph boat with a load.
There aren't many of them around now though, especially that haven't been dinged/repaired.
