    systems check harness??

Anyone know where I can get a systems check harness for a tach? I picked up a set of faria gauges but they have the system check plug for the back and from what i'm told that's parts of the boats harness. I just need the plug that goes into the back of the tach. Heck if I can find a small enough female connector for the pins I'll go that route too. Any info or tips would be great...thanks!

You can get the Deutsch connector for the back of the tach, and the pins for the wires from any dealer. The following is the wiring explanation for the tach.
The factory also makes adapter kits, they ain't cheap, to convert older motors, pre 1996, to System Check. The oil tank pickup has to be changed out also.

    system check gauge wiring

If you just want to use the tach function of the gauge, here's the pin configuration (looking at the back-side of the gauge, holding it upright):

    1-2-3-4
    8-7-6-5

Purple wire goes to pin 1- 12V
Black wire goes to pin 2- grnd
Gray wire goes to pin 3 - tach

Grounding these pins, will activate the following:

Pin 4, turn on no oil lite - tan/yellow
Pin 5, turn on low oil lite - tan/black
Pin 7, turn on check engine lite - tan/orange
Pin 6, turn on hot lite - tan

Pin 8, is used to activate the warning horn, it supplies a ground to the horn circuit when any other warning circuit (pins 4 thru 7) is grounded - tan/blue wire

    SeaHorse...you da Man!!

Thak you! Just need the tach to work and thought splicing into the plug would be easiest but I'll just get the female connectors and go that route! Once again I thank you sir!!
