front deck info, please

I have an 06' 285 XL.

I recently bought a recessed TM pan (troll well) and plan to install it.

Ive pulled the fron paned and looked into the deck, measured about 4 times and everything looks COMPLETEL clear save about 4 inches of foam.

HAs anyone else done this on an 06?
Am I gonna hit anything cutting into this deck?

Did the same on my '05 285 XL Pro and only lost a couple of inches of foam. Measure twice and cut once.
